What is a Freshwater Farm Plan?
A freshwater farm plan (FWFP) identifies practical actions on farm that will be aimed at helping improve local waterways and overall water quality.
A freshwater farm plan is a requirement for farming enterprises that are 20 hectares or more (arable and/or pastoral use), or 5 hectares or more (horticultural use). The regulations have taken effect in several regions throughout New Zealand and will be rolled out in all regions by July 2025.
